What are you feeling over the holidays?
I can imagine, this time of year brings a mixture of emotions. Gratitude for having another day and year to enjoy the holidays. Sadness and grief for those we love who are no longer with us. Excited for what’s to come. Exhaustion from what this year has been both professionally and personally.
I am here to say, all these emotions are completely NORMAL.
If you want to manage when you feel what you feel, then consider starting with your THOUGHTS. Our thoughts have a lot to do with how we feel. We can choose to think what we want to and when.
While you are reading this, if I ask you to think about a yellow banana, you will most likely have a picture of a yellow banana in your mind. Now, if I ask you to think about your favorite vacation spot, the yellow banana has gone away and you are envisioning your time at a favorite vacation location. You may even begin to feel a certain way just by thinking about this vacation.
See, you have so much control over your thoughts and feelings.
I encourage you to feel the feelings but choose when you want to feel the feelings by controlling your thoughts.
