Believe
My word this month is Believe.
What comes up for you when you think of the word 'believe'? I know for me, the first thought that comes to mind is my faith.
What about you?
The next thought that comes to mind is my understanding that what we believe has a lot to do with what we think and how we see ourselves and the world around us.
Our beliefs are generally given to us by those who raised and cared for us.
Our beliefs continue to evolve as we experience the world around us. We then have the opportunity to question and refine our beliefs. What we believe about ourselves and others is powerful! It can hold us back or support us as we move forward.
Years ago, I learned the formula; thoughts lead to feelings lead to actions which produce results. I now make an effort to know and manage my thoughts as it has a lot to do with my actions.
For example - When I believe I am powerful, creative, and capable, I feel confident and peaceful. I am then more likely to take on a challenge to stretch myself. On the other hand, when I believe I am average, limited, or vulnerable, I might feel worry or fear. I am then more likely to stay in my comfort zone and resist change.
Now I ask you.
