Feeling stuck? Not sure what to do next?
In my last blog post, I introduced you to an attitudinal assessment called an ELI Assessment. It has been used to help coaching clients learn more about themselves and given them the springboard to take action and set goals to make adjustments and changes in their lives.
When I first took the ELI assessment in the Fall of 2021, I felt stuck and at a loss with what to do next with respect to my linen rental business, Be Seated. Because of the pandemic, most of us had been in the house, for the most part, for over a year Things were slowly starting to open back up and some small social events were happening. I felt lost and hopeless at times as not much income was coming in and most of my venue friends and colleagues were still in transition. I just wanted to have clear direction and some ideas on how to stay afloat until social events returned or pivot and do something else.
During the debrief with my ELI-MP coach, I was surprised to hear her observations. I realized I had been showing up day to day from a place of overwhelm and worry. It made sense, but I thought I was doing a better job masking it.
My coach and I talked about what I used to do to get ideas flowing and inspiration when I had feelings of worry and fear in the past. (Ironically, that was NOT the first time I felt that way especially while running my business for over a decade.) I realized and remembered the activities I used to do to get mentally and spiritually refreshed. I had not been doing them. Aha!
Right away, I started incorporating the activities I used to do, like listening to the Bible during the day, meditating, and walking, but with a renewed focus, purpose, and knowing. I immediately felt such a relief at knowing exactly what I can do to get connected to God and get my creative juices flowing again. I started to feel less anxious and more confident, and secure in knowing things would be ok.
Today, I feel a deep sense of connection with God and knowing that both Be Seated, AND Janeen Parrott Coaching are what I am supposed to be doing. I now see lots of opportunities to partner with new venues and reconnect with past ones.
Now, when I have thoughts of worry and fear, I have tools to turn to when I notice old patterns arise.
This is one way my ELI assessment has helped me in my journey back to hope and creativity. What could your ELI story be?
Your ELI story begins the moment you decide to complete the assessment. Then I’ll walk you through your assessment results and coach you through any questions, emotions, and “Aha!” moments that arise.
And I’ll share how you can take all you’re uncovering into your real life, where it can make a difference for you and everyone around you.
You ready? Let's get started!
